Dance with the devil we know rather than the devil we don’t.

~unknown

Life has a way of shifting beneath our feet before we realize we’ve been standing still. It is in a perpetual state of motion. Every nanosecond, something moves. The earth rotates, air circulates, water stirs, erosion reshapes the land, and our cells regenerate. So once a moment has passed, it cannot return; what was will never be exactly that again.

Nothing is static.

Think about driving. We get behind the wheel with a destination in mind. But the journey is never identical. The car ahead brakes suddenly, another drifts into our lane, the light turns yellow, and we choose to stop or go. Even when we drive the same route every day, it is never the same experience twice.

Driving is full of unknowns, yet our skills allow us to meet each change without collapsing into fear. We adjust. We respond. We keep moving. We go with the flow. But when life shifts, intentionally or unexpectedly, we often cling to what was, even when it no longer fits.

When we cannot anticipate the outcome, many of us choose the familiarity of discomfort over the uncertainty of possibility. But change is constant, and it will cross our paths whether we resist or not. Adaptation begins the moment we loosen our grip on fear.

Trusting we can adjust is the first step. Ever-changing energy is a transformative force. Learning to work with that energy, rather than brace against it, supports the shifts we seek.

Everyone experiences change, and even though it may feel like you are the only one navigating it, you are not. It’s natural to feel that for a moment; just don’t set up camp there. When we choose to move through the urge to freeze or wallow, we create space for acceptance.

Have the confidence to know that this too shall pass.

Observe what has happened, whether a perceived failure or success, as information. Through introspection, we uncover the places where growth is calling us forward.  Seek advice from those you trust. Reframe your thinking. Once you recognize a non-productive thought, you can shift towards a mindset that supports expansion.

Take time to reflect. Reevaluate. Have faith.  It may not make sense right now,  but clarity arrives in its own time.

Our growth is tied to our willingness to acclimate, and resistance interrupts the flow of energy.

Welcome the starts and stops, twists and turns that shape the journey of your life. Learn to let go and allow yourself to be carried forward. When we release our grip on what was, we make room for what can be. And more often than not, that shift in energy leads to movement that feels like relief, alignment, and even joy.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
