What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.
~ Buddha
Few ideas have traveled through culture as quickly as manifestation. Scroll through any social media feed, and you’ll see it everywhere: Manifestation this. Manifestation that. I love it. Manifestation is a powerful tool. But wanting something and being available for it are two very different things.
We think manifestation isn’t working, but often it’s not the universe that’s blocked. It’s us. That block has a name: resistance.
So what does it look like to stop resisting and to start participating in the process? Often, it begins with something much simpler than we imagine.
Resistance: The Hidden Block
To manifest, we must:
Think about what we want
Visualize it
Feel it
Live it as if it’s already here
That takes conscious, intentional energy. However, our actions often contradict our desires. We say yes—but behave like no. An opportunity comes, and we delay: Not today. Maybe next week? Can we try again later?
The universe doesn’t judge. It simply says: Not ready. Then it moves on to someone else. And that’s okay. Sometimes we’re not ready for what we thought we wanted. But if we are—if we truly want to manifest—we have to meet it halfway.
It won’t magically appear as a pile of money or a perfectly curated life. It takes attention, alignment, and a willingness to engage with what’s offered.
Resistance, therefore, can be nothing more than the pause, the moment we freeze, even when what we want is on the other side.
Just Open the Door
Here’s my invitation to you:
Think about what you want.
Visualize it.
Feel it in your soul.
And when a door opens, look through it.
You don’t have to walk through every door. But if you never peek inside, you’ll miss the magic waiting behind it. Some doors won’t match your vision. Others will exceed your imagination. This requires openness.
It asks for trust. And it starts with awareness. And then there are times when no door opens at all. When opportunities do not appear, it usually points to something deeper than timing.
Why Isn’t Manifestation Working?
Are you yearning for more? Hoping for a life that feels richer, freer, more aligned? Maybe you’re doing the affirmations, thinking positively, and keeping your vibe high, yet still feel stuck.
Here’s a truth we don’t always talk about:
Affirmations speak to your conscious mind.
Manifestation happens in your subconscious.
And those two layers of the mind often want different things. This is where many manifestation conversations stop, but the deeper work actually begins. If your desires are blocked by deeply rooted, limiting beliefs, those dreams won’t land. Your subconscious is running the show. You can’t plant new seeds in soil filled with rocks. You’ve got to clear the space first.
So, how do we begin clearing those hidden barriers?
Start with Belief Housekeeping
Before we create something new, we need to let go of what no longer serves us.
Think of it like soul decluttering:
When we feel unworthy, we cannot receive.
When we are guarded, we cannot expand.
When we doubt, we can’t trust.
When we fear, we can’t love.
To shift these patterns, we must uncover their origins. Our limiting beliefs were learned—handed to us by family, community, culture, and trauma.
They sound like:
“You’re a girl—act like it.”
“You can’t have love and money.”
“Boys don’t cry.”
“You’ll never amount to anything.”
“Good things don’t happen for people like us.”
The list is endless. We internalized them. And they stuck—long after we forgot where they came from. But here’s the powerful truth: Beliefs can be unlearned, and when they are, your entire reality shifts.
How to Spot Your Core Beliefs
The good news is that limiting beliefs rarely stay completely hidden. They leave clues in the way we talk about our lives.
Start with your stories.
Ask yourself:
How do I describe myself?
What patterns do I repeat?
What do I keep attracting?
How do I talk about my life?
Phrases like “I can’t,” “I always,” and “Nothing ever works out” are not just expressions. They’re clues.
They point to the subconscious programs that are shaping your reality.
Think of it as an excavation—a gentle uncovering of what’s been shaping you.
Get curious. Get honest. Go deep. Because when you find the belief, you can dismantle it. You can choose something new.
Often, the moment you discover where a belief came from, it loses its grip. Change can happen that fast.
What’s Really Blocking You?
These beliefs often reveal themselves in subtle but powerful ways. Here are some of the most common ways they appear.
Resistance.
You say you want it, but your behavior says otherwise.
Impatience.
You want it now, and when it doesn’t show up immediately, you get frustrated.
But the timing may be unfolding perfectly—you can’t see it yet.
Rigidity.
Holding on too tightly to how something must appear shuts down possibilities.
Stay open. Stay curious.
Lack of Clarity.
You want a high-paying job, but forgot to specify that you also want a work-life balance.
You want a dog, but didn’t say “small breed.”
Details matter. Be specific.
The encouraging part of all of this is that none of these patterns is permanent.
The Good News?
You can change your beliefs.
You can clear resistance.
You can align with what you desire.
But it takes courage to release the old—and faith to welcome the new. You don’t have to be perfect. You have to be willing. You don’t have to walk through every door. Just start opening them. The path forward does not require certainty; it only requires the courage to remain open. The universe is already conspiring on your behalf. Be Brave. Be Bold. Believe.
It’s already yours.
