One positive thought produces millions of positive vibrations.
~ John Coltrane
Our level of consciousness is not static or set in stone. It is in continual evolution. Raising one’s vibration is a common concept in the metaphysical or spiritual world, which is simply another way of expanding awareness and facilitating the attainment of higher states of consciousness.
Vibrations create the rhythm of our lives, guiding us daily. When someone enters a room, their vibe is the first thing we connect to. Whether we are drawn closer or repelled, we all sense something. It’s undeniable. It’s a gut feeling.
That gut feeling, equated to intuition, is sometimes considered unreal. Just because we don’t understand something doesn’t mean it isn’t true. For example, most of us haven’t grasped how electricity turns on or off with the flip of a switch, yet we acknowledge it works.
In chemistry, we learned that everything consists of atoms, a particle of matter so small it cannot be seen with the human eye. Atoms are in a constant state of motion, and the rotation causes vibrations that resonate at differing frequencies. Sound is also a vibration that includes our thoughts and words.
After a while, those things that vibrate with similar frequencies sync up.
So, even if we don’t understand the science behind vibrations and frequencies, we can recognize that they are real.
What we think creates the reality of our lives. The frequency with which those thoughts radiate is the foundation of our vibration.
Many spiritual practices and religions offer methods to elevate consciousness, discarding what is rooted in lower-frequency behaviors, and raise our vibrations.
So, how are you vibing?
How To Elevate Vibrations
What we think we will attract. Be conscious of the negative thoughts that enter your mind and replace them with thoughts of gratitude, love, generosity, forgiveness, and strive to be non-judgmental.
Eat high-vibration foods: Whole foods without preservatives, artificial coloring, or flavorings. Reduce dairy and sugar. Eat a plant-based diet with reduced processed food, dyes, and artificial coloring. Don’t eat it if you can’t identify all the words on the label.
Eliminate or decrease alcohol, recreational drugs, and over-the-counter medications wherever possible and unnecessary.
Reduce toxins in your environment. For example, use natural household cleaning products, search for those with essential oils, and avoid goods with harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances.
Beware of what you consume energetically. We absorb images from television, film, the music we listen to, the controversy many engage in with social media, and our conversations with people. If it feels toxic, it is. Please turn it off, or walk away.
Meditation, breathwork, and mindful living can calm our nervous system and benefit our state of being; they bring harmony and release mental and physical stress. Set a routine to get you started. Before you know it, it will become a part of your lifestyle.
Declutter your space. The less chaos and mess we have in our environments, the more clarity we will have. Creating beauty in our home has a quieting effect on our body, mind, and spirit. Artwork, flower arrangement, a water feature, a garden, or anything ( other than electronics) that brings a sense of calm to your senses.
Nature is the balancer. Soak up some morning sun with enriching vitamin D, walk in a forest, or remove your shoes and walk in the dirt.
Chart of Consciousness
An area of science that measures the frequency of how things vibrate is credited to the work of David R. Hawkins, a nationally renowned psychiatrist, physician, researcher, spiritual teacher, and lecturer. He used kinesiology, the science of muscle testing, to calibrate the vibrational levels of consciousness. He noted that as each level rises, the frequency or vibration of energy increases.
Love, joy, gratitude, and kindness radiate high on his consciousness chart. As he further tested, integrity appears to be the level of differentiation, where muscle response becomes weak below it and strong above it. He concludes that higher consciousness radiates a beneficial and healing effect on the world.

We can shift mindsets to a higher level when we change our perception of how we act and react. It is a conscious, mindful, evolved choice to make the effort to be a better person. We all can alter the course of our lives. It takes effort and courage to let go of habits, behaviors, and beliefs that keep us tied to old ways. To follow the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.
By holding kindness in our hearts and spreading love everywhere we go, we can change the world, one vibe at a time.
Everything in life is vibration. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.
